Weak Hair? 5 Easy Tweaks to See Stronger Hair

Have you been noticing more breakage, a less full ponytail, or more strands in the shower than usual? You might be suffering from weak or damaged hair. Things like over-processing, stress, heat styling, aging, hormones and more can cause hair to weaken and break off, or sometimes even fall out. Luckily, there are a few easy lifestyle tweaks you can make to get hair back to being strong, healthy, full and volumized. Here’s how:

Take a Break from Heat

Flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers are one of the number one contributors of dry, damaged hair. Try to cut out using your hot tools, or if you must, just use them once or twice a week. Always use a heat protectant when using heat on your hair as well!

Get a Good Routine

Unfortunately, your drugstore shampoo and conditioner are probably filled with silicones and dimethicones which can cause unwanted build up in hair. They might feel great in the beginning, but often make hair look dull and feel lackluster after repeated use.  Instead, try a hair regimen packed with hair-loving ingredients like Biotin, Keratin, and Ginseng. Our Thickening Shampoo and Thickening Conditioner were created to treat hair from the scalp to the ends to erase damage and give you ultimate volume.

Try a Silk Pillowcase

Cotton pillowcases can absorb the natural (and necessary!) oils in your hair, and often lead to tugging and breakage when you move around in your sleep.  On the other hand, silk pillowcases will keep your hair moisturized and won’t pull hair. You’ll notice a big difference in overall hair health in just a few weeks!

Try a Targeted Treatment

Shampoo and conditioner on their own can help, but a targeted treatment can do wonders for dull, dry or damaged strands. Our Volume Enhancing Foam ticks all the boxes for any hair type, keeping hair strong, adding volume, and giving hair the thick, full look we all covet. Formulated with the same groundbreaking science found in RevitaLash® Advanced to help restore the health of lashes and brows, Volume Enhancing Foam works the same magic on over-stressed strands.

Brush Better

Make sure to use a gentle brush that won’t damage your hair’s outer cuticle and cut down on brushing if possible. Look for brushes with round, plastic prongs and cushioned base to avoid creating extra damage.  Also, always brush hair starting at the ends and slowly working your way up to the root, inch by inch. Starting at the root can pull out tangled hairs, resulting in extra damage.
